Freema Agyeman is a British actress (Iranian mother, Ghanian father) who is best known for playing Martha Jones, former companion of the Tenth Doctor in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who, and its spin-off series Torchwood. She currently holds a lead regular role as crown prosecutor Alesha Phillips in ITV's Law & Order: UK.

The former Doctor Who star was spotted on the streets of Manhattan, filming the new Sex And The City prequel - The Carrie Diaries. She is playing magazine journalist Larissa in the show, which follows Carrie Bradshaw's arrival in New York.
